Alabama Finishes Game With Only Three Players After Brawl

Jonathan Grant | November 26th, 2017

Well this is something you don’t see everyday.

When the Alabama Crimson Tide took on Minnesota yesterday, a fight broke out mid-way through the second half.

When the Crimson Tide players on the bench left the bench, they are immediately ejected from the game. That is simply a rule in college basketball.

As a result, Alabama players Donta Hall, Alex Reese, Daniel Giddens, Avery Johnson Jr. and Herbert Jones were ejected from the contest from the bench during the massive altercation.

The play before, there was a verbal altercation between Collin Sexton and Minnesota’s Nate Mason, which resulted in Mason getting ejected.

Dazon Ingram then followed out and John Petty was injured with just under 11 minutes to go in the contest. This left the Crimson Tide with just three players left on the court.

Collin Sexton proved to be the hero of this game as he finished with 40 points and keeping the Crimson Tide in the game until the end. They actually outscored Minnesota 30-24 with only three players.

“Collin Sexton could beat a whole team by himself. He’s just that good,” Minnesota coach Richard Pitino told reporters after the game.

This was not enough, however, for the Crimson Tide as they dropped this game 89-84.
