The Los Angeles Angels are back at it again. Heck, the entire city has been at it for the last few months in regards to signing big name players, with Kawhi Leonard and Anthony Davis being just two of the stars that have headed to Tinseltown or thereabouts. While the Angels have not signed Gerrit Cole, as they have hoped, they have made a significant move, reportedly, with the addition of Anthony Rendon.
The former Washington Nationals third baseman, who we all knew was moving following the resigning of pitcher Stephen Strasburg by the franchise, has agreed to a seven-year deal worth $245 million, according to sources. Even with that being the case, it does not look like the Angels are going to stop spending as they seek to beef up a team that already includes multi-MVP Mike Trout in it. Rendon had a career season in 2019, hitting .319 with 34 home runs and 126 RBI. All of those numbers were career highs, showing he could have peaked at 29 or is only aging like a fine wine.
