Astros Dominate To Even Up World Series At 2 Games Apiece

Jonathan Grant | October 27th, 2019

For the fourth game in a row in the 2019 World Series, the visiting team has managed to pull out a win. That means the Houston Astros, favored to win the whole thing prior to the start of the series, are back in it thanks to an 8-1 win that has the two teams tied at two games each.

They wasted no time getting the jump on the Washington Nationals, either, with Alex Bregman and Yuli Gurriel singling in runs in the top of the first inning. Robinson Chirninos’ hot bat stayed hot with a two-run homer in the fourth, giving them a commanding 4-0 lead. Juan Soto drove in a run in the sixth inning for the Nats to reduce the gap, but a grand slam by Bregman in the top of the seventh ended all hopes that the home team would be able to muster a comeback. Jose Urquidy deserves some praise, too, as the starting pitcher went five innings without conceding a run, offering his team up a platform to go out and win the game and get back on par with the Nationals. Game 5 will take place on Sunday night in Washington once again.
