Athletes Who Protested The National Anthem

On Sept 4th, Megan Rapinoe of the Seattle Reign made headlines for kneeling during the national anthem. She became the first non-NFL player to join the protests.

When questioned, she said as a gay American, she knew what it meant to look at a flag that didn’t protect all her liberties. She also added that it was important for white people to support people of color on the issue.
