The Washington Nationals had hoped to take some momentum from their late Wild Card Game comeback against the Milwaukee Brewers when they took on the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of their NLDS series with them.
The only problem, though, was that Walker Buehler was on the mound and that the Dodgers have been red hot virtually all year. With the righty dealing out six scoreless innings and only allowing one hit, the Dodgers were ultimately able to skate away and win 6-0 to take an early lead in the series. In fact, the Dodgers as a whole only gave up two hits the entire game, stifling the Nats in tremendous fashion. Max Muncy drove in three runs, one of them from a walk and two from a single, while both Gavin Lux and Joc Pederson homered in the later innings to give them insurance that they didn’t need on a totally dominant night on the mound.
