It looked like last season was the swansong for Vince Carter, but that was not to be the case, with the Atlanta Hawks announcing that the veteran would return to the team for a record-breaking 22nd season this year.
Carter will surpass the likes of Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Garnett on the way should he play in just one game for the young, up-and-coming Hawks. At 42 years of age, Carter will also be seeking to help out a very young Hawks as they learn and mature together. It’s exciting times in the ATL, with a lot of recent high draft picks being part of the team, so his leadership could prove to be what they need to prosper in the years to come. If Carter plays in 2020, he would be the first NBA star to ever play across four decades.
