It doesn’t make for pretty viewing, or writing, but history has been made in Major League Baseball. And it’s not the kind anyone will be cheering about. Heck, it’s even past the point of snickering, such is the predicament Chris Davis finds himself in. A season after hitting just .168, the slugger has now gone without a single hit in his last 47 plate appearances.
That includes games this year and at the end of last season as well. This breaks the record for field players. Some of his own Orioles fans have been booing him, while others have been cheering to try to get him back on track. Something just isn’t working right now, and hopefully he gets it turned around soon. Because everybody loses an underdog story.
