It will be a familiar looking Wimbledon Men’s Final this year once again, with Novak Djokovic set to renew his rivalry with Roger Federer on Sunday. But it wasn’t always easy for them to do so. Djokovic, the top seed, took out #23 Roberto Bautista Agut 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 as he was expected to do. In the other semi, Federer and age-old rival Rafa Nadal played out another classic.
When five sets were over, it was Federer who had outlasted his French counterpart, beating him 7-6, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 in their 40th showdown all-time. The 38 year-old Federer, a 20 time Major winner, now has his work cut out for him as he faces a man that so very rarely is defeated on grass in the Final at the All England Club.
