Griezmann Joins Barcelona At Last

We finally, finally, at long last, know have news that Antoine Griezmann, the France star striker, has landed at Barcelona, with the Spanish club confirming he had joined from rivals Atletico Madrid on Friday. After a protracted summer full of intrigue last year, Griezmann spurned Barca ala the Decision only to decide a year later he wanted to leave for real this time.

However, there are still fireworks to be had, with Atletico insisting they are owed much more money than what the Catalan club has paid them. Atletico believe his release clause is equal to roughly $225 million, while Barcelona claim it is about $135 million. It’s a ton of money, and this thing looks bound for court sooner or later, such is the tangled mess it has become with rumors of tampering abounding.
