Harden Gives Rockets A Shot

Jonathan Grant | May 5th, 2019

It took overtime to do so on Saturday night, but in the end James Harden and the Houston Rockets got a big 126-121 win over the Golden State Warriors that puts them a little bit closer to the defending champions at 2-1 in the Western Conference Semis.

Harden and the Rockets physically outlasted the Warriors on this night, a night in which the Warriors only got seven points from their bench and Steph Curry ran out of gas, or at least appeared to, as he inexplicably missed a layup and a dunk down the stretch. Harden posted 41 points while Eric Gordon added 30 for the Rockets in the win. Kevin Durant had a massive performance of his own in the loss for the Warriors, racking up 46 points. He was a perfect 12-12 from the free throw line as well, taking full advantage of every single chance he got. In the end, however, it wasn’t enough to defeat the Rockets in Houston, and it now means that the Rockets can even up the series on Monday night to keep their realistic hopes alive.
