The Cleveland Indians are just about out of the race for the AL Central title, but they still have a small chance to get back in it. Coming into Friday night’s game at the Twins, the leaders of the division, they had six games remaining against their foes.
That means there was plenty of time for them to right the ship and possibly win the division all things being equal. They began well, winning 6-2 in 11 innings to grab the first win, a victory that now places them 5.5 back of Minnesota. It was Roberto Perez that proved to be the hero, hitting an RBI single with two outs to break the game open and hand his team what could be a crucial kick-starting win.
