Jokic, Doncic Star In Victories

Jonathan Grant | January 7th, 2020

Two of the world’s best basketball players just keep on getting better and better. That much was proved on Monday night as both Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic once again stood out in wins for their respective teams. The two Europeans may have much in common, but the way they accomplish their feats are a bit different. On this evening, it was Jokic who led the Denver Nuggets to a 123-115 win over the disappointing Atlanta Hawks by putting up a career-high 47 points.

He also managed to do so without committing a single turnover, a rarity that few can boast about regardless of how many points they ultimately put up. The win was made it from their last six and helped them move to second in the Western Conference as the Hawks lost their 11th game in 13. Doncic, meanwhile, had a regular old night of it by leading his Dallas Mavericks past the Chicago Bulls. The 118-110 win saw him collect another triple-double by posting 38 points, ten assists, and 11 rebounds. That’s nine triple-doubles with 30 points or more on the season, one more than all the rest of the players in the league combined. In fact, only LeBron James has more than one, as he has three of them. At just 20 years of age, it’s downright scary to think that he could improve much more from this point as well.
