Two of the premier European stars in the NBA saw their teams face off on Wednesday night as the Dallas Mavericks hosted the Denver Nuggets. When the dust had settled, it was the Nuggets who came away with the smallest of margin for a victory possible, a 108-107 win. Nikola Jokic was a big factor in it, as he scored 33 points, with the winning bucket coming from his hands with just under eight seconds to go in the game. 26 of those points came in the second half as well, showing his immense improvement later in the game to give them a chance to win it.
His counterpart, Luka Doncic, had 27 points to lead the Mavs, but in the end it was not enough for his team to take the victory this time around. He missed another triple-double by slim margins, with ten assists and nine rebounds, while Jokic collected seven assists of his own to help his Nuggets run their record up to 26-11. The Mavericks are 23-14, and barely over .500 at home with an 11-9 record.
