The Kansas Jayhawks, coming into Wednesday night, were the #4 team in the country, and they were eager to avoid any upsets, of which many of the other top teams in the nation have suffered so far. Playing in the Maui Invitational Finals against the Dayton Racers, they were all but assured of this because of Udoka Azubuike.
Domination is a word overused in sports, but that’s the one that fits what he did. He controlled the game, scoring 29 points and producing four big steals as they went on to claim the title in overtime by a score of 90-84. Dayton shot incredibly well from three-point land, but it was not enough to overcome Azubuike in the end, seeing them drop to 5-1 and lose out on the title and an upset in the process.
