After months and months of speculation and conjecture, it appears that Craig Kimbrel has a landing spot. Reportedly, that is. The Chicago Cubs, allegedly, have a deal in place to sign the pitcher, a former Red Sox and Braves closer, in a deal that is said to be worth $43 million over three years.
Prior to this news breaking, Kimbrel had been waiting seven whole months to finally ink a deal, sitting out the opening part of the season along with fellow pitcher Dallas Keuchel. He is expected to be ready to hit the mound in two weeks for the Cubs, who are in a battle in the NL Central with both the Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals and will need all the help they can get.
