Lakers Defeat Knicks But Lose Davis

Jonathan Grant | January 8th, 2020

The Los Angeles Lakers, as you would expect from this edition of the team, dominated the New York Knicks at home on Tuesday night, winning 117-87 over the still-awful squad that just never seems to get better. That win, however, did come with a price. Anthony Davis, who has helped take them to elite status and a 30-7 record thus far, went down in the third quarter with a hard fall on his back.

Silver Screen and Roll

The severity of the injury is unknown at this moment, and it might have just been a ‘sore one.’ But there will still be big concerns over it, seeing as how he has had his injury problems in the past. Nonetheless, the positive was that the Lakers won their sixth game in a row and that LeBron James is still around and healthy. He scored 31 points to lead all scorers in the ‘W,’ while RJ Barrett led the beleaguered Knicks, who are just 10-27, with 19. Davis had only five points before leaving, so he wasn’t having the best of games and it certainly didn’t get better with what’s sure to cause at least a hurtful bruise.
