It might not have been a classic meeting as it was ‘only’ the Charlotte Hornets taking on the Chicago Bulls on Saturday, but it was still notable due to the performance of Zach LaVine. Having been benched for poor performance a night before, he responded with the biggest showing of his life, nailing 49 points, including the game-winner, in a 116-115.
LaVine tied Steph Curry for the most three-pointers made in a game, making 13 of them on 17 shots, with seven of them coming in the fourth quarter. The last of those was the most crucial, coming with less than a second on the clock and the team behind by two. It handed them the win, putting them on an identical 6-11 record to the side they vanquished.
