Liverpool came into Wednesday night’s home match against RB Salzburg as big favorites. They were the reigning winners of the Champions League and they hadn’t lost a home match in a very, very long time. Plus, their opponents were upstarts and quite a young team, there for mostly experience, right?
That’s how it looked for most of the first half as the Euro champions went 3-0. But that didn’t hold as the Austrians fought back and got a goal before halftime and two more after the interval to make it 3-3 in incredible, unbelievable fashion. The Reds, though, recomposed themselves and got a winning goal from Mo Salah and then defended as they had prior to that onslaught to win 4-3 in what will go down as one of the crazier nights in Anfield history.
