Rory McIlroy wasn’t interested in a close, hard fought win on Sunday at the RBC Canadian Open. The Northern Irishman was keen on running away and hiding as quick as could, and he did just that by dusting off the field with a 61 to record a seven-shot victory over the rest of the field and pen his fourth career 61. I
t was his first time playing the tournament, and it now means he has won the US, Canadian, and British Opens already. He made five birdies in the first seven holes to scurry away after beginning the day in a three-way tie for the lead. If he plays that way next week, we could be seeing him take another US Open trophy along with him.
