In a bid to stop something that no one feels can be stopped completely, the NBA board of governors has passed what are being called ‘strict measures’ to help curtail tampering in the future.
Some of the new punishments include fines of up to $10 million, the loss of a draft picks, and even the nullification of contracts if they are believed to have came about as a result of tampering. All of these sound good and all, but this is and has always been a part of the sport. Even at the youth levels, you see this. Men and women will keep on finding ways to do it, even if they have to be creative at it. Only now they will have to be much, much more careful.
