It’s not everyday that you see two players from the very same high school meet in the major leagues. It’s even more rare when those two players are from another country, as was the case last night when Shohei Ohtani came to the plate to face off against pitcher Yusei Kikuchi of the Seattle Mariners.
The Los Angeles Angels man wound up doing his fellow countryman no favors, smacking a home run and a single against him in a 12-3 win. In fact, when Ohtani homered, it was the third Angels batter in a row, following Tommy La Stella and Mike Trout, to do so. Tons of media interest were around the rare happening, and it’s clear to say that we had a clear and obvious winner this go-around.
