The current version of the Indiana Pacers might just be the most underrated team in the history of the NBA. And they aren’t, they are right up there in the discussion. They showed just why on Thursday night with another incredible performance. Playing without their star man, Victor Oladipo for a long while now, they have remained in the hunt in the East along with the ‘bigger’ teams. There are even hopes of having home-court advantage in the first round. On this night, they hosted the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Things didn’t start so well. Paul George was having his way, racking up 36 points in total, and Russell Westbrook was doing what he always does. But the Pacers kept on fighting. They were down 19 points, but they never stopped fighting and it earned them a 108-106 win. George, the former Pacer might have led the scorers, but the two men he was traded for had a big say, too. Wesley Matthews hit the winning basket, while Domantas Sabonis paced the Pacers with 26 points in a big win that should have more people sitting up and realizing just how good this team is.
