The 2019 NFL season, the 100th, began on Thursday night with a rivalry that has defined the game itself. The Chicago Bears played host to the Green Bay Packers, and in the end it was the yellow and green that came away with a huge victory to start their season in a rough and tumble 10-3 game.
Many questions had been asked about the Bears’ offense and if it was good enough to make them a contender following a very strong showing last season. There were no concerns about their defense, as you can tell by only giving up ten points to Aaron Rodgers, but their offense clearly had some issues. The Packers’ defense were able to prevent the Bears from doing much of anything at all. They were so impressive that they won the game despite Rodgers and the offense only moving the ball for just over 200 total yards. Just when Mitchell Trubisky and the Bears were driving with two minutes left and a shot to tie the game, the Packers rose up once more to deny them with an interception. Of course, the pick came courtesy of former Bear Adrian Amos, further rubbing salt in the eyes of the started Bears. They were so bad that the fans booed them off the field.
