The US Open loves it stars, and on Monday, there was a split decision in regards to whether or not they would advance.
In the men’s side of the bracket, Spaniard Rafa Nadal, the number two seed, managed to move on, seeing off Croatian Marin Cilic, the 2014 champion of the very event. Nadal took the first nine games of the match as he strolled to a four-set victory. In the other half of the bracket, though, we learned there would be no repeat of last year’s heroics for Naomi Osaka as she was eliminated by no. 13 Belinda Bencic of Switzerland in straight sets (7-5, 6-4).
