The NCAA College Baseball Tournament is going on at the moment, and on Saturday night the Vanderbilt Commodores found themselves on the brink of elimination against the Duke Blue Devils. Having lost Game 1 on Friday, they needed to win to force a Game 3 on Sunday, and they didn’t get off the best start when pitcher Kumar Rocker nailed a batter in the eye in the first inning.
However, the young ace would calm down after that rocky first inning and would eventually end up with a no-hitter, only the eighth in the history of the tournament. All the while, he struck out a ridiculous 19 (young) men along the way, setting the record for that as well in the tournament. Now, his Commodores have a chance to make their fourth World Series since 2015, something that wouldn’t have been possible had they not won this game.
