Saints Clinch NFC South, Get Revenge At Falcons

Jonathan Grant | November 29th, 2019

We are only 12 games into the NFL season, but we now know one of the 12 teams that will be in the playoffs. That team is none other than the New Orleans Saints. The now 10-2 NFC South division winners clinched the division on Thanksgiving night thanks to a 26-18 win in Atlanta over the Falcons.

In yet another competitive game, one in which was a followup to the Falcons’ shock win in the Big Easy just a couple of weeks ago, the Saints saw Taysom Hill to step up and be the hero. Hill blocked a punt that eventually led to a three-yard touchdown catch for himself and he would then later go on to run for 30 yards and a second TD. It’s the third straight NFC South crown for the Saints now, and they are the 15th team in history to win a division in Week 13 or earlier since 2002. In 2009, they ended up winning the Super Bowl with this sort of showing in the division, so they will hope they can do so again a decade later.
