In a game that went right down to the wire, the Seattle Seahawks were able to hold off the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football thanks to a late missed field goal that likely would have condemned them to a loss had it gone in.
The hosts had seen exceptional quarterback play from Russell Wilson, playing like an MVP candidate, who threw for four touchdowns after some mad scrambles around the field time and time again. The final one came with just under two and a half minutes left when he found Chris Carson on a fourth-and-goal that involved a bit of misdirection. That clutch play, though, wasn’t going to be decisive, as the Rams drove back down the field and had a chance to kick the winning field goal with the score at 30-29. The 44-yarder, however, from Greg Zuerlein went wide left, and the Seahawks won to improve to 4-1 on the season.
