4. Isiah Thomas
Isiah Thomas is a retired point guard best known for being a member of the infamous “Bad Boys” Detroit Pistons team. He played hard, much tougher than his 6’1 frame, but most importantly, he won. Thomas won the NBA Championship two years in a row with the Pistons in 1989 and 1990 and was the Finals MVP in 1990. He was also a 12-time NBA all-star and despite being one of the greatest players on the court at the time, he was strangely left off the 1992 Olympic Gold winning “Dream Team”.
It was reportedly due to him not getting along with Michael Jordan. Eventually he did make the 2nd reboot of the Dream Team for the ’94 World Championship of Basketball, but never played due to an injured Achilles, which proved to be career-ending. After retirement, Thomas has dabbled in coaching, sports broadcasting and even being an executive to the New York Knicks and New York Liberty, none panning out in the long term.
