1. Magic Johnson
Earvin “Magic” Johnson, is the current president of the Los Angeles Lakers, where he played for all 13 seasons of his NBA career. During that time, he won 5 NBA championships, 3 of which he was NBA Finals MVP. He was also the NBA MVP 3 times as well as a 12-time NBA All Star.
Though he announced his retirement in 1991 due to contracting HIV, Magic Johnson returned to play in the 1992 All-Star Game as well as earning a position on the 1992’s U.S. Olympic Basketball’s “Dream Team.” His #32 jersey was retired by the Lakers in 1992 and in 2002 he was inducted to the NBA Hall of Fame as a player and again in 2010 as a member of the “Dream Team”. After his retirement, Johnson became an advocate and motivational speaker for HIV/AIDS prevention.
