The second round of the MLS Playoffs- the Conference Semi-Finals- began on Wednesday night, and once again they were not short of drama. In the opener, Toronto FC traveled to Yankee Stadium to inflict more playoff pain on New Yorkers as they downed NYCFC by a score of 1-2.
Spaniard Alejandro Pozuelo scored twice, including a calm chipped penalty in the 90th minute to knock the top seeded side out. Out west, it was another creative star that led the way for the Seattle Sounders as they held serve at home by winning 2-0 over Real Salt Lake. Nicolas Lodeiro scored and had an assist, allowing them to advance to face the winner of the all-Los Angeles showdown to come on Thursday night.
