Tiger Woods officially made history on Monday in Japan, winning the Zozo Championship, thus giving him his 82nd PGA Tour victory. The win means that he not only is the first winner of a tournament in Japan, but it also means he is now tied on the all-time leaderboard with Sam Snead.
He now needs just one more to go to the top of the pile all by himself, and you have to like his chances. Even after numerous surgeries and ailments, he has been able to keep on plugging. Snead didn’t win his last tournament until the age of 52. Woods is 43. While he may not be competitive week in and week out any longer, there is no doubt he can pop in and out at times to contend. Just as he did here, capturing a remarkable and very much unexpected victory that only grows his legend more.
