The New York Yankees are one win away from clinching their spot in the AL Championship Series after they hammered the hapless Minnesota Twins on Saturday evening to the tune of 8-2 at Yankee Stadium. After three innings, it was pretty much all over but the singing, too.
That’s because, with a 3-0 lead already, Didi Gregorius stepped up with three ducks on the pond and smashed a Grand Slam home run to give them a 7-0 lead. Greg Gardner widened the deficit to eight just after, and the Twins only mustered two runs, one each in the fourth and ninth. That leaves them in a precarious spot as the series heads to Minnesota. They will need to win all three remaining games to have a chance.
