Zion Williamson Commits To Duke

Zion Williamson, the No. 2 overall college basketball recruit in the class of 2018, committed to Duke Saturday night.

Along with Duke, the South Carolina native also had Clemson and South Carolina in his top school before he made his decision last night.

“Duke stood out because the brotherhood represents a family,” Williamson said. “Coach K (Mike Krzyzewski) is just the most legendary coach that ever coached college basketball. I feel like going to Duke University, I can learn a lot from him.”

Williamson’s commitment is a historic one, as all three of the top recruits in the class of 2018 will be attending Duke. No. 1 R.J. Barrett and No. 3 Cam Reddish also admitted to Duke earlier this year. According to ESPN, this is the first time that all three top players in one recruiting class have all chosen the same school

The Blue Devils also locked up the No. 10 overall recruit in Tre Jones.

Williamson is known for his relentless athleticism and hellacious rim attack. He has wreaked havoc on high school basketball teams all across the country.

This is a once in a lifetime kind of player; athleticism like this is simply something that can’t be taught.

While he needs to improve his jump shot, he is a lethal threat driving to the basket and can defend any position on the court.

There is no doubt that Duke will be the favorite to start out next season.
