Allen Shines As Bills Cruise Past Rams

Jonathan Grant | September 9th, 2022

The 2022-23 NFL season is underway as of Thursday night, and the Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen made a big statement to begin play. While the game was expected to be fairly close, most would have favored the host Los Angeles Rams, the defending Super Bowl champions. Neither of those proved to be true, though, with Allen throwing three touchdowns and running for another as his Bills emphatically won 31-10 at Sofi Stadium.

Allen threw for just under 300 yards (297) and also ran for 55 while wide receiver Stefon Diggs had an impressive opener by making eight catches for 122 yards and a TD. One of those catches was the dagger moment, a 53-yard reception from Allen that sealed the romp. The Bills’ defense was also big-time, picking off Matt Stafford three times. The two teams went into the half-time interval tied at 10 apiece, but the second half belong all to the visitors as they laid down a marker as one of the favorites to make a deep run this campaign.
