Yordan Alvarez is making quite the statement in this postseason, isn’t he? After his heroics in Game 1 that lifted the Houston Astros to a come-from-behind victory, he once again shone brightest in Game 2 against the Seattle Mariners on Thursday afternoon, helping his team to a 4-2 win and a 2-0 edge in the ALDS over their division rivals.

With his team down 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Alvarez took one big swing and changed, hitting a two-run homer to give his team a 3-2 advantage. In the bottom of the eighth, Alex Bregman would help tack on an additional run for the hosts, singling in to make it 4-2 and provide some extra insurance just in case. That leaves the M’s in a big-time hole as the series swings to Seattle. They will have to win all three remaining games in order to advance, but obviously they can only win a game at a time, so Game 3 on Saturday will be must-win and absolutely crucial to them if they want to continue their season.
