The Seattle Mariners truly have no quit to them. It’s an old cliché in the sports world, but they proved that they have mettle and more on Saturday as they came from 8-1 behind to find a way past Toronto and into the ALDS. Teoscar Hernandez had three RBI’s for the host Blue Jays, but they let the M’s keep creeping back into the contest before they finally got the job done and ensured a magical win in their return to the postseason.

Carlos Santana hit a big three-run shot and Cal Raleigh scored three times, including the winning run on Adam Frazier’s ninth-inning double, propelling them to a shock win and a spot against AL West foes Houston in the ALDS. In the other game, the score was very, very different as the Cleveland Guardians and the Tampa Bay Rays played out a true blue nail biter in Cleveland. The two teams had produced just 10 hits between them heading into the 15th when Oscar Gonzalez finally broke the deadlock with his walk-off homer in that very frame. It’s one of the best ways to win- and one of the worst ways to lose, and it sets up the Guardians for a match up with the Yankees in the ALDS.
