With one of possibly the most difficult seasons in the history of baseball upcoming, the Houston Astros are, reportedly, turning their manager search in the direction of a very experienced ‘old head’ in the form of Dusty Baker. Having fired AJ Hinch for his lack of ability to blow the whistle on the 2017 cheating scandal, they are apparently looking at the 70-year old now.
He last managed in 2017 with the Washington Nationals, but he has a wealth of experience having won 1,863 games in the dugout, the 15th most ever, and has won the NLCS once. It’s said he was one of ten men to be interviewed, yet he has climbed to the top of the ‘wanted’ list. We shall see, but we imagine this could be one of his toughest jobs yet given the hatred that team is about to endure for months on end.
