Avalanche Force Game 7

The Colorado Avalanche were not quite ready to call it a day in the NHL’s Stanley Cup Playoffs on Wednesday night. With their backs against the wall and knowing that a victory was an absolute must, they defeated the Dallas Stars 4-1 to take it to a decisive Game 7 in the ‘bubble.’

Mile High Hockey

It was keyed by one of the more unlikelier sources of inspiration in the form of third-string goaltender Michael Hutchinson. He made 27 saves here, while both Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen had a goal and an assist in the winning effort. The Stars took an early 1-0 lead but could not keep their foot on the gas, and now they will be forced to play a highly tense affair to advance to the next round.
