The Colorado Avalanche might not be playing as good of hockey as the Las Vegas Golden Knights are at the moment. But they sure aren’t far away from it. Thursday was another positive indicator for them as they defeated the St. Louis Blues 4-2 to take a fourth consecutive victory.
In doing so, they also clinched their place in the NHL playoffs. Not a bad day, is it? They had fallen behind to Jaden Schwartz’s first-period goal only to storm back late in the period with an equalizer from Brandon Saad. Andre Burakovsky scored the lone goal of the second period on a power play and would then increase their lead to 3-1 just over halfway through the third. Saad got one back for the Blues, but Pierre-Edouard Bellemare made it 4-2 with less than two minutes to go to seal the ‘W’ for the Avs.
