A season ago, the Philadelphia 76ers couldn’t seem to do much right. Every time something good happened, something else would slow them down. This time around, at least so far, they are dominating, sitting at 7-1 through eight games courtesy of a 141-136 victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night. That victory came despite the fact that they allowed Bradley Beal to put up 60 points on them.

That’s the most points scored by anyone playing for the Washington franchise ever, but it wasn’t enough to pull them out of the whole the Sixers had dug for them in what was a strong first half from the league’s top team thus far. The Sixers led by 15 at the half, and that proved to be the difference maker. Another big difference maker was Joel Embiid, who led the Sixers with 38 points. Yet another big factor in the outcome was the fact that Philly shot a ridiculous 62.1% from three-point land. They are a perfect 5-0 at home so far, while the Wizards fell to 2-6 overall and 2-2 on the road.
