Bowl Games: Texas Rolls Past Colorado, Oklahoma State Defeats Miami

The bowl season is starting to heat up now, with some of the top teams from the more traditional power conferences taking center stage. The Alamo Bowl was one of the offerings on Tuesday night, pitting Texas against Colorado. When the dust had settled, it was the ‘host’ team that came out on top, thumping the Buffaloes 55-23. The Longhorns saw quarterback Sam Ehlinger forced off for the entire second half, but it didn’t amount to too much of an issue for them as they took a lead into halftime and only extended it later.

Bijan Robinson was the star of the night, rushing for 183 yards and a touchdown on just ten carries. That’s production right there. In the other bowl game of the evening, Oklahoma State held off Miami to win the Cheez-It Bowl 37-34. OK State QB Spencer Sanders threw for 305 yards and four touchdowns while also accounting for 45 yards on the ground. Wide receiver Brennan Presley impressed to the tune of making six grabs for three touchdowns and a total of 118 yards. Both teams finished the season on matching 8-3 records after the result.
