Brees Leads Saints’ Comeback

Jonathan Grant | October 13th, 2020

Any premature talks of Drew Brees’ NFL career being over were proven to be a little bit early on Monday Night Football this week as he helped lead the New Orleans Saints back from an early 20-3 deficit. He had led them back into by the end of the first half, leading a drive that culminated in a risky rushing TD at the goal line for him.

He’d also lead a drive at the end of regulation to tie the game at 27 apiece as well, forcing an OT period. Of course, he was going to take advantage of that, getting them down to the red zone so Will Lutz could kick a third field goal of the night for the victory. That takes them to 3-2 on the season while the Los Angeles Chargers fell to 1-4 in what was Justin Herbert’s MNF debut.
