The Denver Broncos have not been anywhere near ‘shy’ so far in the market this offseason. For starters, they made quite the splash when they got rid of quarterback Joe Flacco after just one season. On Friday, they added to their core, bringing in running back Melvin Gordon. According to sources, the deal is said to run for two years and is worth $16 million.
If you have been paying any attention, that is far less than the deal the RB had been looking for as he held out from the LA Chargers last season. It has been reported, however, that most of the money will be guaranteed to him, something that the Chargers were not willing to do at the higher rate that he wanted. Having said all of that, there are legitimate concerns by many over the level of consistency- both in terms of performance and with his health- of Gordon. Fumbles have been an issue, and with potential injuries on the horizon as well, this is definitely another gamble by the Broncos.
