Celtics Hold On To Big Lead, Win Game 3

The Boston Celtics knew that Game 3 was basically a must-win on Saturday night against the Miami Heat. Having built large leads in each of the two opening games, they ended up letting their opponents come back each time. The pattern could have happened on this evening, but they made sure it did not as they finished off their opponents to win 117-106 and give themselves a shot at making a real series of it.

Jaylen Brown led the way in terms of scoring with 26 points, but it was a total team effort in this victory. Jayson Tatum had a big showing as well, scoring 25 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. He was only two assists shy of a triple-double, such was his dominance here. Kemba Walker had 21 and Marcus Smart also had 20, giving them four starters that had 20+. The Heat had just one starter with that many points, with Bam Adebayo showing out with 27. Udonis Haslem came off the bench to supply them with 22, but it was not enough as they lost just their second game in this season’s Playoffs.
