The Utah Jazz have been the talk of the NBA for the last month or so. Having lost only once in the past 21 games, they came into their meeting with the Los Angeles Clippers looking to make it ten wins in a row. When the final buzzer had sounded, however, the Clippers had denied them that accomplishment, downing the Jazz 116-112 in a close one. They did it via some fine play from top-to-bottom as they returned to full strength. Kawhi Leonard led the way by scoring 29 points while ‘Sweet’ Lou Williams put up 19 from the bench.
Three others, including Paul George, put up double digits as well for them as someone finally figured out a way to defeat the Jazz again. Donovan Mitchell scored 35 and led all scorers for the losers on the evening, while Bojan Bogdanovic had 23. The Jazz were not discouraged by the loss, though they did admit that ‘losing’ the rebounds stat- 45 to 38- was what ultimately cost them in the end. They are now 24-6 after the loss while the Clippers went to 22-9 with the victory.
