The Los Angeles Clippers’ main man, Kawhi Leonard, has a fairly long road to coming back to the NBA. That’s because the team announced on Tuesday that the star forward had undergone surgery for a partially torn ACL.
The injury had occurred during the NBA Playoffs Western Conference semis against the Utah Jazz, and unfortunately, there is no timetable on a potential return at this stage. Partial or not, you have to believe it will be difficult to see him back on the court before the end of the year, but modern medicine and rehab have come a long, long way, so you never know until the player is back competing. Leonard is very likely, if healthy, to opt-out of his deal at the end of the year, so how this plays a role in that scenario will be fascinating to behold.
