They may not be quite the team that they once were, but the Golden State Warriors still have that little bit of something extra some nights. That’s what they showcased on Monday as they took down the defending NBA champs in a wild, wild game, utilizing excellent shooting from Steph Curry and co. The Lakers had them down by as many as 14 in the final quarter, yet the Warriors refused to give it up, with Curry leading the way with 26 points to lead all scorers. They were down by nine with less than six minutes to play as well, underlining how clutch they were down the stretch to take down the champs.
Along with Curry, Eric Paschall was also instrumental toward the end of the contest. Both he and Curry scored eight points apiece in the final period, with Paschall recording 19 total. They also got 18 from Andrew Wiggins. Dennis Shroder accomplished the rare feat of scoring the most for the Lakers, putting up 25 while Anthony Davis had 17 points and rebounds on the day. LeBron James, who scored 19, missed a three-pointer at the buzzer that could have won it for his team. The loss snapped a five-game Lakers winning run, dropping them to 11-4 while the Warriors went above .500 at 7-6.
