Dodgers Get Game 3 Win, Lead 2-1

Game 3 is always a pivotal game when a series is tied at one game apiece. It’s even more important in the World Series when one team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, are looking to avoid losing a second straight. They avoided that on Friday night as they took Game 3 over the Tampa Bay Rays in Arlington by a score of 6-2. Many of the headlines are going to go to their tremendous offense, which consistently scored runs on the evening, but those plaudits should go to starting pitcher Walker Buehler, at least in part.

The youngster went six innings and struck out ten while conceding just a solitary run in his work. That took advantage of the offense he was supplied with. Speaking of which, that got started with a solo shot in the first from Justin Turner. Max Muncy, Austin Barnes, who had a homer later on, and Mookie Betts all drove in runs in the third and fourth innings that helped them open up a 5-0 edge. Once they had that, they never looked like losing. A late Randy Arozarena home run came in the ninth, but by then the Rays were still down by four, making it too little too late to comeback. Game 4 is on Saturday night.
