The Los Angeles Dodgers have a habit of ‘winning the postseason,’ don’t they? They surely have done so this time around, as sources have stated that they have landed both Mookie Betts and David Price from the Boston Red Sox, with the news leaking out on Tuesday night. Betts, who was AL MVP for a lights out 2018, had a bit of a down year in 2019, yet managed to get a big deal from the Red Sox before being traded-finally.
Even in that down season, he still hit .295 in an injury-ravaged campaign. Price is a bit of a ‘bonus,’ if you will. He has not been what he once was, but that’s one of the prices, pun intended, of making a deal for Betts. With Betts’ addition, the Dodgers lineup could start Opening Day with seven, yes SEVEN, former All-Stars in it. And think about that outfield with Betts and Cody Bellinger in it. The Dodgers continue to be a player in the National League for a long while yet, or at least should be a major contender.
