Dodgers Trounce Braves With Early Onslaught

Jonathan Grant | October 15th, 2020

The Los Angeles Dodgers always felt like they had some momentum coming into Wednesday night’s game against the Atlanta Braves. Despite losing the first two games, they had battled back valiantly toward the end of Game 2, giving them plenty to look forward to in Game 3. It took them little time to jump on the Braves on the evening, scoring an inordinate amount of runs in a first inning that could only be called a massacre.

They scored 11 runs in the top of the first, chasing Kyle Wright from the mound after 2/3 of an inning worked. By the third inning, all nine starters had crossed the plate for them. They had 15 on the board after three, forcing the Braves to essentially just eat the defeat by throwing pitchers to the wolves to save some for later. Corey Seagar had two RBI base hits in the first frame, while adding a homer two innings later. Cody Bellinger had RBI hits in the second and third, showing his bat is heating up right about the right time. It was ugly, ending 15-3, but that is baseball sometimes, and the series is now wide open once again.
